Frequently asked questions

How do I subscribe to Koral?

Subscribing to Koral is very easy! Just follow these steps:

  • Access koral.co and complete the registration. If you already signed up, just log in.
  • Enter the catalogue, and don’t forget to select the relevant option from the drop-down menu on the top: you can use your personal Koral or the Koral of your choir, if you belong to one. The option you select here will also change the available features for your subscription.
  • Browse the catalogue until you find an interesting collection: click on it to see the full tracklist. Click on “more info” to visit the collection details page, where you will find additional information and a preview of each song in the tracklist.
  • In order to start learning the songs within a collection, you need to add it to your repertoire. To do so, please use the “add to repertoire” button from the catalogue or from the collection details page. If you already have a compatible active subscription (like an unlimited collection of the same type, e.g. “choir” or “baritone solo”), the collection will be immediately added to your repertoire and you’ll be able to start learning it immediately. If you don’t have any (compatible) subscription yet, a click on the “add to repertoire” button will bring you in the subscription page.
  • The subscription page is very simple: just select a plan (single, double, or unlimited) and a billing period (annual or monthly). Don’t forget to pick the right option from the drop-down menu on the top of the screen. An updated recap of your order is always available on the bottom of the page. Please note: in “double” and “unlimited” subscriptions you can only include collections of the same type (e.g. “choir” or “baritone solo”). Please also note that the subscription renewal is automatic: by changing the billing period, you are changing the payment frequency (one payment per month or one per year). Annual billing will save you a considerable amount of money.

How does a Koral song work?

As soon as you add a collection to your repertoire, you will be able to learn each of its songs on Koral. To do so, click on “your repertoire”, and don’t forget to select the relevant option from the drop-down menu on the top of the screen: you will be able to see either your personal repertoire or your choir’s repertoire, if you already belong to a choir on Koral.

  • From the repertoire, find the collection you’d like to learn and click on the “learn on Koral” button. This will bring you to the collection details page, where you will see the full tracklist and a “learn” button for each song.
  • Click on the “learn” button to enter your learning session in our player environment:
  • you will see a score, a group of “voice buttons” on the left, and another group of “playback buttons” on the bottom;
  • use the “voice buttons” to set the volume of each voice in the song: full volume (green), background volume (orange), muted (white). Please note the same applies to the instrumental backing track;
  • use the “playback buttons” to start playing the song, to slow it down (turtle button), to pause, to go back and forward across the score or to start from the beginning;
  • click on any point of the score to start from there.

How do I join a choir on Koral?

Please click on the “Your choir on Koral” section. Start checking whether your choir is already on Koral through the choir search function. If so, you can request to join it through the button on the bottom: the request will be sent to the choir administrator. If you cannot find your choir on Koral, you can create it. To do so, click on the “add it here” link, fill out the choir registration form and you are done! You automatically become the administrator of a choir you create on Koral: that means you will be able to invite more people to join the choir, to accept or decline the join requests your choir gets, to name a conductor or further administrators, everything from the choir details page (you can reach it by clicking on “your choir on Koral” and then on the choir’s name). Please also note that, as an administrator, you will be able to buy choral subscriptions i.e. subscriptions which will be shared among all your (current and future) choir members. To do so, please select your choir from the drop-down menu on the top of your screen before completing any subscription purchase.

I already have a subscription: how can I upgrade it or change the billing period (from monthly to annual)?

Upgrading your Koral subscription is very easy: just browse the catalogue and find another collection you would like to learn. Try adding it to your repertoire by clicking on the “add to repertoire” button within the catalogue or the collection details page. If an upgrade is needed, you will be automatically brought to the subscription page: just follow the instructions you will find there. Changing the billing period (from monthly to annual) is even easier: go to your personal profile page, you will find the list of your active subscriptions. For each subscription, a “switch to annual billing” button is available. Just click on it and confirm, you are done!
